Right out of the box, the EeeBox PC EB1501 sets out to challenge the traditional "watching of DVDs on an LCD TV" home entertainment concept. With HDMI-output, a slot-load optical disc drive (ODD) and the ability to play content from your own media library in Full HD, the EB1501 is set to give your current home entertainment system a run for its money. The EeeBox PC EB1501 runs on the Intel Atom N330 Dual Core processor and NVIDIA ION graphics platform and features a slot-load optical disc drive (ODD) to let you enjoy multimedia content on your LCD TV in Full HD 1080p. The EB1501's Total Media Center supports multiple media and codec file formats while SimHD sharpens video and scales up your DVD/SD movies from 720x576p to HD quality at 1280x720p or higher. Besides providing excellent entertainment the EB1501 has an elegant, space saving "standing diamond" form factor giving it the distinction of being one of the world's smallest PCs to have a slot-in ODD; mount it on the back of an LCD monitor to save even more space and create an all-in-one PC at the same time. Big things come in small packages and the EB1501 is no exception—with an array of I/O ports ensuring full connectivity. HDMI and S/PDIF output ports ensure a Full HD 1080p home entertainment experience with 5.1 channel surround sound; while the built-in 802.11n WLAN and Ethernet LAN port keeps you connected to your home network. Additional I/O ports include: D-sub, eSATA, card reader, headphone and mic jacks, and 6 USB ports. The EB1501 comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty.
Features: 1.6GHz Intel Atom Dual Core N330 Processor; NVidia ION | 2GB DDR2 RAM, 2 Slots, 4GB Max | 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM); Slot-in ODD | HDMI Out; 802.11 bgn Wireless; 6 USB2.0 ports | Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System; Wireless Keyboard, Mouse, & Remote Control

Good machine, a little pricey, but doing work.

Bought this machine, upgraded RAM to 4GB. So far so good. Had a few hicups w/WPA2 security & my router, but for the most part, the machine does a good job. I can watch HD content w/no sputters. And the box fits nicely tucked behind a wall mounted TV.
If it had a Blue Ray Drive, the price would be more solidly justified.
Easy to use.
Pretty quiet, uses little power, works well

The EB1501 is quiet, though a bit louder than I expected. If it is sitting right next to me on the desk in a quiet room, the fan sound is a little bit annoying. With it mounted under the desk, even at night in a very quiet room I can hardly hear it.
I hooked it up to a Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor to measure its power consumption. When it's not busy, it only uses 19 watts of power. I didn't try too hard to tax it, but doing things like launching applications and watching videos brought the power consumption up to 25 watts. I'm very impressed. If I left it on 24 hours a day, at 19 watts that translates to about $20 in electricity for an entire year. (For comparison, my regular PC uses about 5 times as much electricity.)
Some things I've done on the EB1501 with no problem:
* Watched YouTube and Netflix videos
* Had sound going through the HDMI cable and through a USB audio interface (a Griffin iMic)
* Had a VGA monitor at 1280x1024 and an HDTV at 1080p hooked up separately and also simultaneously with an "extended desktop"
* Burned a DVD
I'm very happy with the EB1501.
ASUS EEE Box 1502
This little computer is all it is advertised to be and it works great and uses a very small space. In fact I mounted it to the back of my monitor and I is still accessible. The only issue is they should offer two models the standard with 2 GB RAm and a second model with 4GB Ra, I upgraded my memory to 4 GB and it enhanced the performance of this little mighty might machine.
How I threw away $465

I purchased this computer on 3/3 and the computer was delivered on 3/5. The computer did not load desktop for Windows. I contacted ASUS and their customer service was lousy so without delay I shipped the computer back to Amazon.com. They received the return on 3/10 and someone in their company signed for it per my UPS records but to date I have been getting nothing but a run around on when I will get my refund. I was told I would get a refund including the cost of shipping on the return but it is well over the required 5-14 business days window and I have not gotten any refund. In this recession no one has money to throw out the window but thanks to the stellar customer service from Amazon it seems that my money is gone. I am without a computer, which I asked for a replacement and they said they are no longer ordering new computers for this model and they would refund my money, and I have not received my refund.
It is risky to purchase big ticket items from some company. It they are not trustworthy you will end up throwing away your money.

Good value, slow computer
This computer has the best specs. There was no problems out of the box - it's working fine. I find it being slow, sometimes getting stuck trying to display family photographs. Nevertheless, it's serves it's purpose. I haven't try Blue Ray yet
