I purchased the HP DV8T Quad in November 2009 to replace my aging Dell 1720. I have been using it for 3+ months now and I am very happy with it.
Pros: Great screen - BD drive makes watching Hi Def movies easy when traveling. Excellent Wi-Fi Range. Full size keyboard and number pad. Good Video card. HDMI output. Huge hard drive space. Fast. Lots of memory. Ok battery for a large machine.
Cons: Huge - need a large case to carry. Touchpad not as responsive as I would like. Touchpad collects skin oils, dust, hairs everything. Keyboard not back lit. Need to change to LED screen backlight. Needs option for additional battery.
Other: Pack your BD disks and HDMI cable as many hotels offer HDMI connectivity in rooms. Get an external mouse.
