Yes, you deserve to know and Lenovo needs to get their act together.
I've always associated Lenovo with solid quality and good reputation. How wrong I was! I bought two Lenovo laptops directly from Lenovo. A 06774D (Intel i3) and a 06774C (Intel i5). The i5 was for my wife and the i3 for my cousin. Each had problems:
The i5 had two problems: It arrived with one of the plastic covers that go underneath the laptop assembled improperly. Hard to describe here but imagine one of the little plastic lips that hold the panel in place was left out and the panel screwed in like that which left a very noticeable gap. I wonder if Lenovo has a QC department? The other problem was that the touchpad worked intermittently. In order to left-click you have to do it a certain way; right in the middle of the designated area but even then it would sometimes not work. If you tired clicking around the edge you can hear it click but it didn't work. Also, the trackpad would be unresponsive sometimes when I tried to move the pointer around the screen. I would just not move until I tried again. Very annoying.
The i3 had the same problem I described above with the touchpad so it seems to me that Lenovo got a bad batch of touchpads? Still though, nobody at Lenovo noticed the poorly designed and/or defective touchpads?
Customer Service: I can write more several lines about my experience with customer support in trying to get a refund but suffice it to say that I was bounced around like a ball for about 4.5 hours on the phone before I was done.
