Great specs, but falls down in execution

Everything the other reviewer said it true, BUT there are seveal flaws, possibly fatal depending on your uses. I have this computer and also the nearly identical A4000-069US, both have the same problems.

1. Sentelics touchpad is terrible, even worse, Sentelic doesn't provide drivers and neither does MSI. NO scrolling at all, overly sensitive and there is no sensitivity adjustment. By far the worst touchpad I've used in years. OTOH, if you don't use a touchpad anyway, it doesn't affect you. The MSI forums are filled with touchpad complaints.

2. The display drivers are nearly useless. The display is oversaturated, colors look great as long as you like the artificial nearly neon look you see when you go to a store and look at the flat screen TV's. Problem is, it is nearly impossible to do photo editing on this machine. The provided Nvidia drivers have basic adjustments, but not the saturation which is where the problem lies. The Webcam suffers from terrible drivers as well, the color starts out oversaturated but fairly accurate, but over a 30 sec interval it gradually shifts to make skin colors very blue, not just a blue tint, but very blue. The provided arcsoft driver doesn't help at all.

3. MSI does not acknowledge the existance of this computer anywhere on their web sites and there are no updates available. There is no section for manufacturer support at all.

4. The keyboard is very difficult to touchtype on. There is very little space between the keys and no "drop off" between the keys as on most notebook keyboards, so while typing there is little tactile feedback to let you know your fingers are in the right places.

If you use this computer for gaming, using a mouse, it is a great deal, lots of horsepower for the $$ and very light. But if you touchtype, use the touchpad much, do video skype calls, or try to edit you photos, you will likey be unhappy.
